Breathe... Perms tend to be at their curliest when you first get them. Washing your hair today won't wash out the perm...especially not all of it. Go to Walmart and buy yourself some heavy conditioner. That will help way it down until the curls loosen. Also if you want your hair back to the way it was before, you can do a reverse perm where you use perm solution and comb your hair straight.

I have the same exact hair and unless iuss products it gets frizzy! I use garnier fructis curling gel. Once I get out of the shower I brush my hair and take the curling gel and scrunch it through my hair. The n I use herbal essences set me up spray gel. I spray it through my hair and I'm good to go! Ask your stylist if she uses Pativa perms. They are amazing. It is more of a body wave than an actual perm. If she wraps your hair on white rods, in a candle stick wrap...or purple rods for less curl, you will have really pretty natural waves. You will have curl if you scrunch it up with product, but mostly it is a really natural looking perm, and is really popular in my salon. I use it at least once a week, especially near the summer time when my clients want nice beachy waves. Also there is a semi-permanent perm by Iso. I am not exactly sure of what it is called, because I have only used it once, and that was on myself, but it worked really well and is great for someone who has never had a perm before and is afraid of commitment. l'oreal feria is the best color I think. it gives awesome shine and highlights and has the BEST conditioner that comes with it. it's in a small tube and you're supposed to use half when you color your hair and then half 2 weeks later. use half when you're rinsing out the color, and then every other day use a pea sized amt in your hand. just a little bit goes a long way and makes your hair very smooth and shiny but without weighing it down. I wish they would sell the conditioner separate from the color!
